Sandpiper New Media, owned by technology pioneer Brent Clark Palmer, is a marketing & technology management consulting firm with a strong emphasis on business operations, strategic marketing, and information design.
IN THE eBEGINNING
In the early 1990s, Mr. Palmer implemented one of the first full-motion/full-screen video networks for Hewlett-Packard. Subsequently, he designed one of the first hotel wi-fi networks for Hilton (at Disneyland!), and one of the first voice-over-IP telephone systems for Panasonic Labs.
Since 1995, Sandpiper New Media has been a pioneer in the development of the Internet. SNM owner Brent Clark Palmer was one of the first web developers to introduce vertical side-navigation, and his pioneering model is the subject of a chapter in the McGraw-Hill textbook Internet Literacy. He was also a founding attendee at the First International Conference on Electronic Commerce in Austin, Texas.
WORKING THE WEB
SNM has created scores of successful web sites, including libertyguide.com for a Institute for Humane Studies in Washington, DC. In recent years, Mr. Palmer has been recognized in several industries for transitioning many companies to paperless processes using mobile technology.
NOT JUST THE BRANDS, MA'AM
SNM has also done branding for Reason magazine events and a national yoga clothing chain. Mr. Palmer consulted on information architecture for osha.gov and created a popular web community for toy company Hasbro.
AN INTERESTING GENTLEMAN
A well-rounded individual, Mr. Palmer also found time to play piano for an art opening of Leonard Nimoy’s photography, to spend a year traveling through nine Western states in his classic convertible, and to become a certified Reiki Master massage therapist.
